We speak with Ahsan Dada, the General Manager at Kelly’s Distributors about opportunities and challenges the business has faced, and how Ordermentum’s technology has opened up new sales, and has helped this successful, long-running business manage their day-to-day admin and operations.

What are some other reasons your customers love you?

Our relationships are built on best-in-class service, our fast order processing and turnaround times, and efficient operations that allow us to focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty.

We also keep up with trends which is so important in the drinks and cafe products category. 

For example, with an increasing number of people becoming more health-conscious, there’s been a steep increase in the demand for low-sugar drinks, so we’ve expanded our product range to meet that demand. 

What are the main challenges you’ve had with growing your business?

Like any business we face different challenges at different times. Right now, there are a few issues:

  • Rising operating costs: Everyone’s feeling it at the moment, but increased business costs have significantly impacted profitability. From higher material costs to rising labour expenses, managing the escalation of costs while maintaining quality and service levels hasn’t been easy.
  • Current state of the market: The market is currently unstable, with fluctuating demand and changing consumer behaviour making it hard to predict and plan for future growth. Additionally, the overall economic environment, including increasing debt costs has added a layer of complexity to how we operate.
  • Ever-changing market trends: Keeping up with and adapting to rapid shifts in market trends requires agility and constant innovation, which can strain resources and affect long-term planning.

Why did you first start using Ordermentum?

We started using Ordermentum in March 2024 after being approached by their team. 

We felt they were really interested in collaborating with us and we had several meetings with them because we wanted to make sure our partnership was mutually beneficial. 

We came on board because we saw there were advantages to the platform, such as getting one more sales channel.
