We speak to Director Chris Seaton about how Ordermentum has been able to help Brewing Brands scale rapidly in the past two years.
What are the main challenges you’ve had with growing your business?
One of our biggest challenges has been staffing - which is common through the industry. Finding and retaining quality staff is particularly challenging right now.
As a family-run business - my business partner is my brother Lawrence - we operate differently from a corporate entity and like all of our staff members to feel like part of the family.
Due to the more intimate nature, we invest a lot of time and effort into finding the right people who will chip in and work well together. We also pride ourselves on first-class service, good management and strong relationships, so we want to make sure all of our team members uphold these values.
Why did you first start using Ordermentum?
Ordermentum came to us because we acquired Real Friends and their brands including iconic cold-pressed juice HRVST ST.
The platform is well-known in the industry and cafe owners love it because they’ve got all their suppliers in one place - this is the problem that Ordermentum solves really well.
How does using Ordermentum make it easier for you to run your business?
Brand reputation: most venues have heard of Ordermentum, which is great and it makes it so much easier for our sales reps to go and convert if the cafes are an existing Ordermentum customer.
Data: The Insights feature gave us a lot of valuable information, like when a customer should have ordered and if they didn’t, it means we can follow up. Something like this is super valuable in keeping the relationship going.
Overall, after more than ten years of experience in the industry, we know how vital it is to have an efficient user-friendly system for our customers.
What do you think of the payments on Ordermentum?
The Payments feature reduces risk for any supplier in a market that’s already pretty tight. You can’t overstate the importance of that.
Then there’s the time element. 80% of our customers are paying through Ordermentum and having payments set up like this saves us about 40 hours, which is essentially a full-time person’s job.
Do Sign Up Links help you with onboarding?
Definitely. Sign Up Links make it very easy. Our sales reps just use the QR code when they go in to see a customer. You can convert and have them as a customer in one hour as opposed to 24 hours - it’s pretty amazing!
Were there any features you didn’t expect?
Insights is one I didn’t expect. I’m a very data driven owner and we base all our decisions on data. You can’t get better data than what we got from Insights to make informed decisions.

At the moment it’s the leading market solution in Australia.
Are there any integrations that help you?
We find the integration with our proof of delivery partner, Soulbox, super useful. It’s really great when your systems work together.
What feedback do you get from your customers using Ordermentum?
They love it. They say it’s easy to use and it’s a one-stop-shop for them. Super user friendly.
What would you say to anyone considering using Ordermentum?
It’s honestly a great system, especially if you’re trying to build out a B2B solutions nationwide to obtain control of your customers.
