Australian coffee culture as a whole is pretty amazing - and it shines especially bright in Melbourne. This becomes even more apparent at this time of the year, when the Australian coffee industry gathers for the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE).
MICE is without a doubt the largest and most exciting dedicated coffee event in the Asia Pacific. 2023 was the 10 year anniversary of this major event, and we were buzzing to be part of it (as the above photo attests!)
In a world that's increasingly digital, the opportunity to connect in person is a chance to form real-world relationships. It's a time to engage with fellow coffee enthusiasts, to exchange ideas, and to meet both familiar faces and new people in the industry.
Ordermentum staff and everyone who visited the stand were never thirsty, thanks to the delicious and health-boosting juices from Emma & Tom's.
In a showcase of talent and skill, Rawirat Techasitthanet, proudly representing JiBBi Coffee Roasters, was the the triumphant winner.
The Richest Barista competition, hosted as part of The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE), had 32 elite professional baristas vying to be the best barista. Rawirat emerged victorious with a colossal reward of $25,000 in prize money.
During the event we were lucky enough to attend events like La Marzocco Warehouse Party and the Square One grand opening.
By the end of the three days, we were packing down, weary but happy to have been part of what’s always such a fantastic event.
